Finding Peace Through the Bible, Lesson 6: Why We Cannot Save Ourselves

In our last study, we went back to the beginning.

We saw that humanity was created by God, that life itself came from God, and that sin brought separation, corruption and death into the human experience.

We also read these sobering words from Romans chapter 3, verse 23:

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

In this lesson we explore a question that naturally follows.

If I know I’m not perfect, why can’t I simply become a better person?

Why can’t I do enough good things to make myself right with God?
